I replaced a 433MHz Estate remote gate receiver with the LiftMaster receiver after the original Estate receiver failed. I selected the LiftMaster to be compatible with my 3 vehicles which have HomeLink transmitters. The LiftMaster works very well and for the first time I can use the HomeLink features instead of visor clip on transmitters. This is a versible universal receiver that can be powered by 12VDC, 24VDC and 24VAC. A plug in power transformer can be purchased separately if your garage door/ gate controller does not provide power for the receiver.I installed this receiver in the fiberglass box which also contains the gate controller and connected it to the 24VDC power provided by the gate controller...a very simple connection. The momentary dry contact from the LiftMaster was connected to the Estate gate controller open contacts which work exactly as required. I drilled a hole in the top of the fiberglass box so that I could position the LiftMaster with the antenna vertical extending through the top of the box and then sealed the hole with GE silicone II RTV sealant (a sealant that will remain flexible and not leak over time).Although the specifications list the range at 30-50 feet, My installation with the external vertical antenna exceeds 200 feet which is better than the original receiver. Extremely pleased.
