This brass porch lamp is both beautiful and heavy. It has a very substantial feel. The only caution is to be careful when installing it because if you are installing it by yourself, it is heavy enough that you could drop and break it. It slipped out of my hands while I was attaching the wires and fell to the porch floor. A small glass panel in the back shattered. Fortunately, the missing glass panel can't be seen at all from the front so it doesn't really matter. But if the glass panel had been in the front, it would have been a total loss.
